Solving Systems of Three Equations

Solve the following systems of equations using substitution and/or elimination. You may use your calculator to check you answers. One method might be to use matrices.

General Questions

2x - z = -1
5x + 2y +2z = 15
x - 3y - z = -8

1.

(1/3)x + 6y - (1/2)z = 10
4x - (1/2)y + z = -11
2x + (1/4)y - (1/4)z = -6
2.

3x + 2y - z = 0
x - 5y - 2z = -27
-x + y + 4z = 27
3.

3x + y - z = 2
-2x - 4y + z = 0
x + y = 3
4.

2.4x - 1.3y + z = 13.4
0.8x + 0.9y - 3.2z = 8
x - y - 4.1z = 10.1
5.

x + y + z = -1
10x + 3z = 46
4y - z = -30
6.

3x - 4y + z = 8
x + 6y - z = -5
-7x + 2y - z = -4
7.

2x - 3y = 1
