Algebra I Recipe: Graphing Quadratic Inequalities
Steps:
  1. Determine if the boundary will open up or down.
  2. Find the vertex point.
  3. Find the x-intercepts.
  4. Find additional points by filling in the box.
  5. Graph every point found.
  6. Connect the points.
    • Solid boundary – if standard form has ≥ or ≤.
    • Broken boundary – if standard form has > or <.
  7. Shade the graph.
    • Above the boundary – if standard form has > or ≥.
    • Below the boundary – if standard form has < or ≤.
ExamplesExamples:
y > 3x2 - 2x + 4

y ≤ 2x2 + x + 6
